For independent users who can maintain interaction progressing towards spontaneous communication.

Students will learn to:

  • Understand and use all Past, Future and Subjunctive tenses;
  • Speak and interact with more confidence;
  • Listen, read and understand a variety of audio and written documents: article, news reports, radio, TV
  • At the end of this level, prepare and sit for DELF B1. DELF B1 is the minimum level of proficiency required to be eligible for French citizenship.

Advanced - B1.1

This course is designed for students who have completed level  A2 or who have been assessed prior to enrolling.

In this course, students learn the vocabulary and language structures required to:
  • Explain a life change and describe past events;
  • Use the subjunctive to express goals or achievements;
  • Discover complex sentence structures such as "si + conditionnel passé";
  • Report speech in the past;
  • Express causes and consequences.

Advanced - B1.2

This course is designed for students who have completed level B1.1 or who have been assessed prior to enrolling. 

In this course, students learn the vocabulary and language structures required to:

  • Describe past events and report speech in the past;
  • Use the subjunctive to express regrets and protests;
  • Discover complex sentence structures such as si + conditionnel passe;
  • Understand the use of subjunctive and/or indicative in complex sentence structure;
  • Use double object pronouns.

Advanced - B1.3

This course is designed for students who have completed level B1.2 or who have been assessed prior to enrolling. 

In this course, students learn the vocabulary and language structures required to:

  • Talk about social injustices and have an opinion about society issues
  • Promote a solidarity action
  • Express objectives and give your support to someone
  • Give your opinion in a debate
  • Describe a painting and understand an art critic
  • Understand a cultural program and suggest your friends doing cultural activities
  • Understand and do an interview
  • Write a show critic and debate about a cultural event
  • Understand and use gerundive and present participle, adverbs in -ment, relatives sentences with subjunctive

Advanced - B1.4

​ In this course, students will learn the vocabulary and language structures required to:

  • Debate about the environment and energetic choices
  • Make hypothesis and talk about the future
  • Express interdictions
  • Talk about justice
  • Write an administrative letter
  • Express doubts and certainty

Students will have an opportunity to revise their prior grammatical knowledge (future tenses, conditional, y and en…), and analyse the structure of the language more and more.
