For complete beginners and those who have a basic level in French: 

Students will learn to: 

  • Introduce yourself, express likes and dislike
  • Daily routines and leisure activities
  • Numbers, time, days of the week, etc.
  • Present, Past and Future tenses
  • 4 levels to complete: from A1.1 to A1.4
  • After A1.4, prepare and sit for the DELF A1 exam, an official and international recognition of their level in French.

Beginners A1.1

    This course is designed for complete beginners in French.
    In this class, students learn the vocabulary and language structures required to:
    • Greet, introduce yourself and someone else;
    • Give and ask for personal details (name, address, telephone number, age, nationality);
    • Count and use numbers;
    • Communicate in French in the classroom with the teacher and other students;
    • Express likes and dislikes.

    Beginners A1.2

    This course is for students who have completed level A1.1 or who have been assessed prior to enrolling.
    In this class, students learn the vocabulary and language structures required to:
    • Talk about your leisure activities;
    • Inquire about and book accommodation;
    • Describe your city and neighbourhood;
    • Ask for and understand an itinerary or give directions;
    • Daily routine.

    Beginners A1.3

    This course is for students who have completed level A1.2 or who have been assessed prior to enrolling.
    In this class, students learn the vocabulary and language structures required to:

    • Talk about your likes and dislikes;
    • Introduce and talk about your family;
    • Numbers and counting, ask for and give time;
    • Talk about and describe your daily routine and habits;
    • Organise and invite someone out.

    This course is for students who have completed level A1.3 or who have been assessed prior to enrolling.
    In this class, students learn the vocabulary and language structures required to:

    • Introduce and talk about your relatives, ask for and give news of someone;
    • Relate or recall past and future events;
    • Make and answer phone calls;
    • Give advice;
    • Talk about and describe the weather.
