It's back to school! The whole team at the Alliance Française d'Adélaïde is happy to see you again in 2020. On the program for the upcoming term: cultural activities to continue to practise the language and discover French culture outside the classroom, new courses as the term begins on 28 January, and the 31st edition of the French Film Festival already in our sights, 17 March to 14 April.

Ciné-Club: Amélie

Ciné-club returns this Valentine's Day with a special screening of the 2001 French romantic comedy film, Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain, which tells the story of a shy waitress who decides to change the lives of those around her for the better.

A different way to practise your French, club de lecture allows you to develop and improve your reading and comprehension skills!

Déjeuner-Conversation recommences in 2020 from Wednesday 12 February. Déjeuner-Conversation gives you the opportunity to talk in French. No registration or fee is required, just a willingness to participate.

Free Screenings: Operas de Mozart

12-13 February, University of Adelaide

Before you see Mozart’s Requiem at this year’s Adelaide Festival, relish in the comic melodrama of Don Giovanni, savour Così fan tutte’s satirical take on love, and revel in the theatrical fairyland of La flûte enchantée.

Join us as we screen performances of these fantastic Mozart operas - courtesy of the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence (in partnership with la Fondation Orange).

Term 1 is fast approaching with classes starting on Tuesday, 28 January. Enrolment for Term 1 courses at the Alliance Française is still open with classes filling up fast, so enrol today and learn French with us!

Courses designed for complete beginners to proficient speakers. Enrich your child’s life and open their mind: enrol them in a French class!

SACE French Stage 1 and 2

For students wanting to complete their SACE French Stage 1 and 2 outside of school, we are now offering a special weekly course on Mondays and Thursdays at 4pm. Officially accredited by the SACE Board of SA, the course will prepare Year 11 and 12 students for the SACE Continuers French exam (Stage 1 and 2), while focusing on three strands: Communication, Understanding Language and Understanding Culture.

To enrol, contact us by phone at 8272 4281 or by email. Please note: this course is a separate, dedicated course for students not completing SACE French Stage 1 and 2 in school. We also offer a complementary SACE/IB course for students learning Year 11 and 12 SACE/IB French at school.
