This course is designed for beginners in French with basic knowledge of the language (alphabet, presentation, numbers etc.).

Students will learn how to:

  • Describe a city while reinforcing notions previously learnt, such as the gender of nouns.
  • Book accommodation and how to give/ask for directions.
  • Write a postcard giving impressions about a place, describing their activities and making a comment about the weather.

Entry to Beginners 2 courses is only available to students who have:
- completed Beginners 1; or
- have been been placed at this level following our teacher's assessment of your placement test.

A valid registration fee is required in order to enroll in this course

  • Reinforce your previous knowledge of French.

  • Understand brochures about a city, directions and descriptions of accommodation.

  • Using simple phrases and sentences to describe where you live and the attractions of the city.

  • Write a short, simple postcard and fill in forms with personal details, for instance entering a name, address or phone number on a hotel registration form.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to interact in a simple way, to give and understand directions in French, and to write a postcard giving impressions about a place.
