This course is designed for complete beginners in French. Students will discover the language and the very first basics of the language.

Students will learn:

  • How to count in French, how to communicate in class using the target language and how to introduce themselves.
  • Greetings, introductions and the differences between formal and informal. Students will have the opportunity to ask and answer simple questions about personal details such as name, address or nationality.
  • How to talk about their dreams and passions.

- I can understand numbers until 100

- I can understand short conversations about formal and informal way of greeting at any moment of the day.

- I can identify formal and informal relationships.

- I can understand a simple information request

- I can understand a phone number and a mail address

- I can understand short TV show extract

Reading :

- I can read someone introduction (name, nationality, country where he/she comes from, languages spoken, age, studies/ profession, passions and dreams.)

- I can read numbers until 100

- I can identify formal and informal relationship

- I can understand an inscription form and business cards

- I can understand a short testimony of someone's dreams and passions

Spoken interaction :

-I can greet someone in a formal and informal way at any moment of the day

- I can ask and answer questions about someone's identity name, nationality, country where he/she comes from, languages spoken, age, studies/ profession, passions and dreams.)

- I can understand information request about identity and answer to it (birth date, address, phone number)

- I can ask prices

Spoken production :

-I can introduce myself (name, nationality, country where I come from, languages spoken, age, studies/ profession, passions and dreams)

- I can count until 100

Writing

I can write numbers until 100

I can write a short introduction (name, nationality, country where I come from, languages spoken, age, studies/ profession, passions and dreams.)

Grammar
-I know present form of verbs “être”, “s'appeler”, “avoir” and verbs of the first group « -er »

-I know masculine and femine of nouns

-I know definite and undefinite articles, possessive adjectives (mon, ma, mes, votre, vos)

-I know how to negative sentences.

-I know how to use interrogative adjectives « quel »

- I know how to use prepositions with a country name.
