What we offer

The Alliance Française offers a wide range of French classes for all ages (children, high school students and adults) and all levels. Teachers are French speakers with extensive experience, and classes are kept to a maximum of 14 students. We also organise linguistic stays in France through the French network of Alliances Françaises.

Our multimedia library has a collection of thousands of books, hundreds of movies and music CDs that students and members can borrow. New acquisitions are made regularly to meet all levels of proficiency and interest.

We offer a range of cultural and social activities and keep people up to date through the website and through our newsletter "Échanges".

To determine which level suits you best, please:
If you have studied French previously, both a written and an oral test will allow us to assess your level of French. This free placement test is a way for us to better understand your strengths and needs, so as to recommend the course best adapted to your current level.
The written test takes about 15 minutes to complete and is in 2 parts:
• An initial self-assessment where you let us know what skills you can manage in French
• A quick written test corresponding to the skill-level indicated by your self-assessment

In order to ensure a most accurate placement, this placement test will be followed by a quick interview with a French instructor. Once we have received your written test, we will contact you for your oral assessment. This interview will last about 15 minutes and will be organised at our premises or, if needed, over the phone.
