The Alliance Française d’Adelaide has great pleasure in announcing its next free event, coming back to Adelaide on June 21st, La Fête de la Musique!
This famous French highlight is a long established tradition which takes place each year on June 21st, the day of the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere. Developed by the French Government in 1982, it is now held in 450 cities across the globe.
The idea behind it is for every music maker, amateur or professional, to come out onto the streets, the squares and the cafés to play or sing for free as the public wanders from place to place and from artist to artist. This event embraces all different styles of music, always in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
On June 21st 2013, the Alliance Française d’Adelaide is bringing La Fête de la Musique to Adelaide. Free concerts performed by talented artists from different ensembles, orchestras and bands will delight you in the State Library, in SA Museum, the Art Gallery and John Davis Music. The musical program will include jazz, chamber music, rock and opera!
